Al Pratt was an auxiliary member of the [[Great Lakes Defenders]]. Born in 1914, Pratt was a skinny and physically weak young man. He started training in boxing under the great [[Joe Morgan]] and his protege [[James Harper]]. He became a proficient martial artist and developed a powerlifter physique.

Al volunteered to transfer to [[Steve Rogers]]' command when the [[Defenders]] were formally activated. He served with distinction in Europe until 1941.

Al Pratt was killed by a German artillery shell near Bastogne. He is buried in the US Joint Forces cemetery in France.
