Robo first became operational in 1938. The android developed self-awareness and spent a great deal of time fighting Nazis. He was active well into the last days of the war.

In particular he travelled to Lemuria and the lost Celestial bio-research station there, heading off the Nazi invasion. Atomic Robo was lost with the rest of that expedition.
