The Defenders were the world's first team of superhumans. Banding together to fight off the Axis powers, the Defenders gathered allies from all over the world.

The Founding Members of the Defenders were Captain Steve Rogers, Hippolyta of Themyscira, and Jor-El of Krypton. Other members would come and go, including heroes of world-straddling reputation and local ambition alike.
