When [[Morgana Le Fay]] triggered the events of [[Ragnarok]], her ancient home of R'yleh was the breaching point from which [[C'thulu]] emerged. A panicked conclave of magi, including [[Merlin]], the [[Vishanti]], and the archmages of Atlantis, ralled what remained of their powers to seal C'thulu away. The Archmages sacrificed themselves to stand as eternal vigilant guardians of the sleeping [[Realm Between Worlds|Great Old One]], and the tribe of Atlanteans known as [[The Black]] ensure the Archmages' rest is never disturbed.
