Tartarus is part of the realm of [[Olympus]], home of the pantheon of the Greek Gods.

Called the "underworld", it is divided into several regions and is presided over by Hades. It is vast in scope, one of the largest of any abyssal dimensions due to the strong harmony that Olympus has with so many cultures.

While it has many regions that concern those in the afterlife, the depths of Tartarus are where the darkest of deeds have been performed. It has been a lightless, cruel prison for a score of millennia. The Titans who fought alongside [[Cronus]] against [[Zeus]] are imprisoned here, many of them being tortured endlessly. The Hundred-Handed, the Cyclops, and the Gigantes are set as guard against the Titans escaping. And the former arch-deity of Olympus, Uranus, howls endless fury from his lightless cage.

So bleak and tormented is this part of Tartarus that it borders [[Hell]]. The malice and cruelty of even a deposed god is enough to warp the harmony of that realm.

There exists a gateway to Tartarus called "Doom's Gate". Protected by [[Amazon]]s on the island of [[Themyscira]], it is a direct pathway into the Titan's prison. Should the door be opened and the Titans loosed, they will surely attempt to conquer Olympus-- before conquering humanity, assuredly.
