New page

Ted Grant was the hero known as Wildcat, a vigilante active mostly in the late 90s.

A world-champion boxer, Grant was the heavyweight world champ in '84 and '85 after several Olympic gold medals. He lost to Mike Tyson in '86 and retired from active competition, becoming a coach for many young up-and-comers.

Grant spent several years as a vigilante in his borough of Brooklyn, doling out beatings to guys who were too big for the cops to handle. He called himself Wildcat after the magician [[Giovanni Zatara]] fixed a 'curse' and gave Grant 'nine lives' to live.

At 68, Grant remains one of the best boxers and martial experts in the world. He's in remarkable health and able to give even some younger, more ambitious heroes a run for their money in the ring.

He retired in 2006 shortly after [[The Watch]] formed and started Ted Grant's Boxing School, planning on eventually picking a better name for it.

Grant has taught some of the finest fighters in the world the fundamentals of hand to hand combat, including sparring with [[Steve Rogers]] and [[Dinah Lance]].
