The Titans were founded in 2009 by several young associates of prominent heroes active in [[The Watch]]. Funded by an anonymous donor, they concealed their identities initially so no one would identify a handful of legal minors as being unsupervised vigilantes.

Initially, the young hero known as [[Dick Grayson|Robin]] and his friend [[Wally West|Kid Flash]] were the first to have the idea. They invited a few friends to join in their escapades.

The Titans disbanded in 2012 after their friend [[Tara Markov|Terra]] revealed she was in league with the mercenary assassin known as [[Slade Wilson|Deathstroke]]. She detonated explosives in the base of [[Titan Tower]] and destroyed their home.

In 2017, Wally (now calling himself The Flash) and Grayson (styled as Nightwing) decided to reinstate the Titan's charter. They selected a new facility location and began recruiting ambitious young metahumans to their ranks, as 'unofficial' allies of [[The Watch]].
