An elite Russian military team primarily staffed by metahumans loyal to Russia.

After World War II and the formation of SHIELD, the USSR formed their own covert metahuman research division. Called the CCC (Sovetskiye Supere Soldaty), it attempted to replicate the work of [[Abraham Erskine]].

Initially they had no success duplicating the [[Super-Soldier]] serum. However they were able to develop a less robust version later called the [[Infinity Formula]]. Rare and expensive, it was allotted only to the most useful of assets and agents.

During the Cold War, the CCC began experimenting with highly unethical metahuman engineering. Agents were developed with specific targets or objectives in mind. A handful of the newly minted Winter Guard deployed to Cuba during the height of the Missile Crisis, and aided in repelling metahuman CIA assets who were embedded with the revolutionaries.
