Elder beings that are the oldest of all races. The First Gods are creatures that existed partially in and out of our reality, suspended in the Astral plane that glues the multiverses together. In some ways it can be argued that they are nothing 'but' willpower given form, or the Power Cosmic made manifest as awareness. Whatever they are, they are almost incomprehensible to most mortal minds.
Billions of years ago, the First Gods were caught up in a war with Oa and the Celestials. Their home in the Source destroyed, the First Gods fled in infinite directions at the speed of thought.
Note: The resettled First Gods later became known as the Elder Gods. The wave of children following the birth of the Demiurge are the New Gods.
References to Old Gods refers to wholly alien creatures from the Realm Between Worlds known as Old Ones.
