The Central Power Battery on Oa is a conduit and a battery for the green energy of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. It was constructed by the Oans millions of years ago as a means of focusing the collective willpower of their entire species. This device allowed them to relay their enormous power to their legions of Martian Manhunter robots. Later, after Krypton rose, they transferred this power to their newly formed Green Lantern Corps.
The Central Power Battery is also a jail, housing the most dangerous enemy to Oa and the Lantern Corps: Parallax, the ideologuic manifestation of Fear.
