Bolivar Trask developed the Sentinel program for the DEO. He went beyond the bounds of the design parameters and built a self-improving synthetic intelligence that was a supercontroller for the Sentinels, called Master Mold. The AI went rogue, killing thousands of metahumans. Trask was blamed for the deaths, and was set to become a key witness for the state against LexCorp when he was discovered dead in his prison cell in 2017.
