Contents
- Our timeline is set to present-day and is on a 1:1 timeframe with the date.
- The earliest superhero team was the Defenders, active during World War II in opposition to the Axis metahumans called Purifiers. The Defenders laid the groundwork for later generations of heroes and vigilantes alike.
- In the 30s, Nikolai Tesla developed the Zero-Point Energy construct with funding from Howard Stark. The young shipping magnate would restructure his company into arms development, giving the United States a formidable fighting advantage.
- Many metahumans were forcibly relocated in 2006 with the Johnson-Kinsey Mutant Relocation Act.
- Xavier’s has a ‘Mutant Outreach’ program active in Mutant Town. X-Men Base is not directly linked to the school potentially? More to be discussed.
- Setting will include all major cities in both DC/Marvel in some capacity.
- Sokovia’s mutant population was largely destroyed by the Sentinels or there was a civil war and it warred/destroyed itself, pinned and yet to be decided yet.
- Genosha is cloistered & secretive, but a ‘Promised Land’, to what extend (evil/neutral/self-serving) is pinned to be further decided.
- Tesla ‘beat’ Edison in their private war, and as a result better equipment and technological advancements came than in Edison-won realities.
- Owlman - Thomas Wayne Sr. got involved with the Allied effort to use the Mafia to fight the Axis infiltration of the eastern seaboard. He was such an effective agent that he got recruited by the OSS and linked up with the Justice Defenders a few times in Europe. (Move to Batman page)
Grid
Grid will be minimalistic, approx 50 rooms in total between all IC grid rooms. Approx max of 4 rooms per major city (Rich area, business area, poor area, park as primary examples) though not required (could either be more or less), and after full launch as needed/requested by incoming player demand, grid can be expanded upon organically provided new rooms will indeed get usage.
RP will be allowed in an OOC RP room setting pre-approval, but will not be considered IC for any party until all chars involved are fully approved.
There will be a means of IC transportation to feasibly allow characters a fast and explainable method of movement between cities/countries on grid to cover large distances plausibly. Suggestion: Fast As Hell Bullet Train by Stagg Industries is one proposal.
RP Rooms will be added to facilitate any other required rooms, and some measure of desc code will be added to allow for optimal flexibility.
Cities
- New York -- The largest city on the eastern seaboard, including Mutant Town, Manhattan, and Harlem.
- Metropolis -- A center of commerce and technological development in Delaware
- Sokovia -- A small Baltic state located near the western border of Russia.
- Themyscira -- A hidden island hidden by powerful magics in the Aegean sea. Home of the Amazons.
- Gotham -- A crime ridden city on the coast, major shipping and transit hub.
- Coast City -- A borough of Los Angeles
- Central City --
- Latveria -- A small, wealthy country near Poland, it is the ancestral home of Victor von Doom.
- Asgard -- Asgard is the seat of power for Odin's armies.
- Knowhere -- Located at a terminus point on the edge of known space
- Madripoor -- Madripoor is located in the Riau Islands south of Vietnam.
- Genosha -- Genosha is an isolationist nation north of Madagascar
- Savage Land -- The Savage Land is an isolated preserve in the Antarctic
- Wakanda -- An isolationist nation in a hidden crater valley near Kenya
Groups
These are groups that are canonically present on opening day and/or included in timeline and pre-established. The game will welcome the formation of other canon groups not listed here, or player-inspired groups that form organically out of RP.
In order to prevent ‘group creep’ and consolidate RP, teams are kept deliberately small. Our unique canon means that certain groups or configurations of groups do not yet exist, so character histories may need to be modified accordingly.
Players are welcome and encouraged to create their own groups (3+ people or more required) for canonical or OC groups (such as Outsiders, Young Avengers, etc…). If Staff assistance is required, or player assistance (for example, Tony Stark helping to form the Young Avengers) it will be provided to make everything as smooth/easy as possible to the group’s vision within theme and reason.
- “Justice Defenders” (name will change, placeholder for now)
- X-Men (First Class, GenX, New Mutants)
- Titans
- Flash Family
- Bat-Family
- SHIELD -- American forces helming a NATO operation to recover alien artifacts and pre-emptively intervene with hostile metahumans.
